WHY WE DO THIS
At Music City Skydiving, our mission is simple:
To change the way people see the world — one jump at a time.
Skydiving has a way of reminding people what they’re capable of. The nerves before boarding the plane, the moment the door opens, and the decision to step out all come together in a single experience.
Fear turns into excitement, doubt turns into confidence, and people realize they were capable of this all along.
As Will Smith once said,
“God placed the best things in life on the other side of fear.”
Skydiving just happens to be one of the most powerful ways to discover how true that really is.
BACK TO THE SKY
For DZO Danny Velez, skydiving isn’t just a sport — it’s part of who he is.
Danny was first introduced to skydiving during his time in the military. Years later, he returned to the sport and quickly reconnected with the skydiving community he had always loved.
But it didn’t take long for him to realize what he loved most wasn’t just the jump itself — it was what happens to people when they take their own leap.
Watching someone face their fear, step out of the airplane, and land with a smile they can’t wipe off their face never gets old.
Because at that moment, something bigger than skydiving happens.
People discover what they’re capable of.
THE LEAP OF FAITH
In 2021, Danny and his wife Kirstyn took their own leap of faith and purchased Music City Skydiving.
Their goal was never just to operate a dropzone.
They wanted to create a place where people could step outside their comfort zone, celebrate life, and experience something unforgettable.
Today, Music City Skydiving has grown into Tennessee’s premier skydiving destinations, known for:
- Highly trained and experienced instructors
- A professional, safety-focused operation
- A welcoming skydiving community
- Incredible views and unforgettable jumps
But what makes the dropzone truly special is watching people arrive unsure of themselves… and leave realizing they were capable of far more than they thought.
BEHIND THE DROPZONE
Danny is at the dropzone most days, and chances are you’ll see him (or his iconic Music City Skydiving canopy) around. If you do, don’t hesitate to say hello.
And if you’re lucky, you might even catch him in freefall with one of his favorite pieces of skydiving “gear” — a giant inflatable flamingo.
While Danny spends most of his time in the sky, Kirstyn helps guide many of the behind-the-scenes pieces that keep Music City Skydiving running and growing.
Together, they focus on building a dropzone where people feel welcome, supported, and ready to take on something new.
WHERE FEAR BECOMES FREEDOM

“Can I really do this?”
And by the time their feet touch the ground, they already know the answer.
Because sometimes the most incredible moments in life don’t happen when you play it safe.
